Welcome to the Friends of Fort Custer website. We are a loosely organized group of trail and land users of the Fort. Our purpose
is to facilitate the cooperative use and development of the Fort Custer Recreation Area for all user groups and to minimize user
conflicts. We represent hikers, cross country skiers, equestrians, hunters, mountain bikers, mushers, birders, and campers, to list a
few.
The purpose of this website is to promote communication between user groups and to enhance the experience we all seek when
enjoying the Area. It is our intent that this site will be a forum for information sharing, issue identification, and resolution. Contact
us with any event notices or suggestions for additional pages.

| IMPORTANT NOTICE |
The Dog Sleds (Mushers) will be training at the Fort on Nov. 8th and 9th. Mountain bikers and equestrians should ride
either the Blue Loop or the Green Loop. The Mushers don't use the Fort that much for organized events, so please give
them the Red / Yellow for that weekend. Also it's fun to watch them, so you might just want to sit along the trail and
watch - maybe take some photos. The FORT CUSTER DOG SLED RACE will be held Feb 14th and 15th 2009, if there is
sufficient snow. Come out and watch!
